Home Is Where the Hearth Is

There's no better way to kick off the fall season than by curling up in your favorite overstuffed chair with a mug of hot tea, a good book, and a crackling fire at your feet.  It may not be fireplace weather here in Santa Barbara just yet, but we can daydream, right?

I love the gorgeous detailing of the fireplace tile in this Projects photo.  What was once white painted brick and Saltillo tile hearth is now a custom made tiled hearth designed to match the stained cherry mantle posts.  The fireplace is now the focal point of the room, rather than an afterthought.

This modern living room had an old, clunky, and awkward looking hearth which was removed in favor of this gas fireplace insert.  The Projects team worked with the homeowners vision and installed the porcelain tile insert flush with the wall to create a sophisticated look in this contemporary home.  

This living room from blogger Golden Boys & Me  has more of a country feel to it, and has been decorated for the fall season.  The glow of the fireplace makes the room feel more inviting, and I love the velvet pumpkin decor!
